Negroni Sbagliato Recipe

Description
The Negroni Sbagliato — Italian for "mistaken Negroni" — is what happens when you swap gin for prosecco and end up with something brilliant. Lighter, bubblier, and dangerously easy to drink, this aperitivo-style cocktail balances bitter Campari with sweet vermouth and sparkling wine. It's sophisticated without trying too hard, and with our Valencia Orange Garnish, it looks as stunning as it tastes.
Ingredients
- 1 oz Campari
- 1 oz sweet vermouth (we recommend Carpano Antica or Cocchi)
- 2 oz prosecco (or any dry sparkling wine)
- Ice
- 1 Valencia Orange Garnish wheel (dehydrated orange slice)
Instructions
- Fill your glass. Add ice to a rocks glass or large wine glass.
- Build the drink. Pour Campari and sweet vermouth directly into the glass over ice.
- Add the bubbles. Top with prosecco and give it a gentle stir — just enough to combine without losing the fizz.
- Garnish like a pro. Perch a Valencia Orange Garnish wheel on the rim or float it on top for that signature look.
- Sip and savor. You've just made a mistake worth repeating.
Notes
- Prosecco matters. Use a dry prosecco or cava — nothing too sweet. You want the bubbles to lift the drink, not overpower it.
- Vermouth freshness counts. Once opened, store vermouth in the fridge and use within a month for best flavor.
- Adjust the ratio. Prefer it less bitter? Go 3/4 oz Campari and 1.25 oz vermouth. Like it drier? Add an extra splash of prosecco.
- Serve it right. This is an aperitivo — meant to be sipped before dinner, ideally with some good company and even better conversation.
- Why dehydrated orange? Our Valencia Orange Garnish adds aromatic citrus oils and visual elegance without the hassle of fresh fruit prep. Plus, it won't sink or get soggy.
